So THIS is our Present,
and clearly there’s no time like it. The planet’s on fire, the oceans are angry, our undead culture stumbles on, eating our brains, and it would appear the future has been cancelled….
Meet the Syllables: a multi-instrumentalist polymorphous genrefluid folk-punk-disco war-machine committed to manifesting new ways of living, feeling and thinking, from the dancefloor to the streets. We are a partyband with teeth whose mission is to engage, inspire and affirm, and we do not accept that to be serious one must be sad.
We all know the revolution will not be televised, but you’d better believe there will be dancing.
SEE YOU IN THE PRESENT!

THE SYLLABLES BRING THE PARTY
because we are all social extroverts who practice cross-pollination: not only are several of us in other bands but our entire network of friends is made up of other musicians, artists, promoters and scenesters of all stripes, and we all love nothing more than supporting each other’s projects.
PEOPLE HAVE FUN
because our songs are interesting. In the midst of our stultifying contemporary cultural wasteland the Syllables provide what audiences are craving most: real music about real things, art that is authentic and committed, and reminds you how much you love to dance.
THE SYLLABLES ARE PROFESSIONAL
because we’ve been doing this a while. With over twenty years combined experience performing in a variety of venues around the area the Syllables understand the importance of being punctual, prepared and flexible. We have gear, we know how to use it, and we always bring a set-list.
